The Bowl in the middle of the table

It was a large round table

My friends and I were in Thailand

Bangkok that day

Hosted by our Thai Chinese friend

the bowl was big,

and it was full of a red liquid

our friend asked who will try it

Kawakita san said I will

so, a small cup was sent his way

before he could taste it,

as he lifted it to his mouth

he began to sweat

after he tasted it there was a loud sound

yes, it was hot, maybe too hot for any of the rest of us

but we tried, always good to try!
