I look forward to hearing from you. Paper Poppy Press is a home for veterans’ writing, and that includes you. We welcome you, whether you write and publish regularly or you are just testing the waters by having others read your work. I won’t edit your message, though I may work with you on grammar or punctuation to help it get through.

Accepted submissions will be part of the weekly featured Veteran Writing Showcase, and poems or excerpts from longer works will be read by me in my weekly TikTok video.

You can submit up to three poems, up to 4,000 words of personal essay or fiction. That word count isn’t ironclad. Contact me if you have something slightly longer, and I will read it. https://paperpoppypress.com/contact/

As with most publications, writing promoting racism, hate against LGBTQ+, ethnic origin, or religion will not be considered.

Violence in veteran writing is understandable, but violence for shock value, or purely for the sake of violence, will not be considered.
