Paper Poppy Press
A place for veterans to share their writing with the virtual world and a a showcase for veterans books published by the press. Veterans- We would love to hear from You!
In Flanders Fields
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
– Major John McCrae

About Frances Wiedenhoeft
Frances Wiedenhoeft is a mother, grandmother, writer, poet and a 22-year Army veteran with service in Iraq, Afghanistan and Desert Storm.
After a lifetime in the Army and devoted to the practice of nurse anesthesia she found herself again in writing.
She had a message in her writing about war and its aftermath that she felt compelled to share but there are few outlets open to these stories.
Frances opened Paper Poppy Press to be one small avenue for veterans to be heard.
